If you talk about link directory, there are actually limitless possibility - the most common way is to offer featured listing, usually to be renewed annually.

Some other ways are: text link sponsorship (be careful about this, as Google is against link sales practices), banner ads, CPC advertising (Google AdSense, Adbrite, Bidvertiser, etc), or, if you lucky enough, whole site branding by a sponsor (which means, you don&#039;t have to advertise any further - you land on one, single big account!).
