Tyler,
I totally agree - we should be happy, but we should never be content (or procrastinate), because we can and should do more :)

Jacqueline,
"They COULD be happy every day if only they chose to." - Well said, and I couldn't agree more!
Yes - most of us are indeed rule by our own ego. When 10 is a great achievement, most of us want 15 because our competitors (even our friends) get 14. People might succeed doing this, but other than their work/business, they've got none, zero, zip, zilch, nada. And to be honest with you, I were also easy to slip into 18-hour day, 7-day week work-mode, in which I can't recon what day is today. The end result: I've got knackered and exhausted physically and mentally.
Never let yourself slip into such situation!

Ivan, you hit the nail on the head when you point out the fallacy of thinking that something can "make you happy." You make yourself happy, the things you do, have, or desire can only enrich the happiness experience.
While I generally consider myself a happy kind of guy in that I fully appreciate my blessings, I am not content. Not content because I know that I am capable of much more and I feel that I owe it to myself and to the world to do better. That may temper my happiness, but it is a price that I am incapable of not paying.

Happiness is a choice you make every day, regardless of how your business/investments are going.
The people with the attitude of "I won't be happy until X happens" are just wasting their lives. They COULD be happy every day if only they chose to.
These people are letting their ego rule them - and the ego will stay in control by always finding a higher benchmark for them to achieve before they allow themselves to be happy. Therefore they will NEVER be happy until they diminish the control their ego is utilizing over them.
I feel the next few years will see the deconstruction of ego and emergence of heart as the guiding force of our lives. Bring it on!
Live Life Happy!
