Cheers for the kind words, Brandon...
To add, the thing is, many giving up blogging because they can't see their blogs beyond their role as personal (business) journals. Treating business blogs as branding tools change the your blogging vision and mission considerably.

Dor,
Combine that with networking in a business network, such as LinkedIn and bx.BusinessWeek.com, the effect is amplified :)

Tyler,
Agreed - With Noobpreneur.com I reduce personal blogging from time to time to the point that it resembles more as a business resource than as a business journal.

I agree with your premise. I would say that ultimately a blog allows someone to build a voice for their expertise in a particular space. There are certainly elements of brand in that but not in a selfish way. It allows you to give to a particular community and build upon that. Great tip on knowing what you want your blog to be before you start. This piece is critical.

Through blogging your readers get an opportunity to get to know you and follow your advise. You never know, you might get a big fan who wants to work with you on a project.

Ivan, all fantastic and I would add that you need to tell your story as a business, business owner, or professional as a part of your blog. If you're blogging for business then the personal side should be limited to that which is relevant to the business, but your personality should shine through.
