Outdoor Signs

Outdoor signs have a direct impact on your business. Today there are a wide variety of outdoor business signs that you have to choose from. If you want something with a little more pizzazz than the traditional outdoor signs with basic lettering that can be interchanged, you can easily find them. From multi-dimensional to 3D signs, there are outdoor signs that will represent your business perfectly. They are an important factor in the success and credibility of your business, as well.

Using the right outdoor signs will give your business effective communication to potential clients and customers. It’s a very cost-effective method of communicating your service or product, and the fact that you’re there, to everyone who passes by. Your outdoor business signs should portray the feeling that you want your potential customers to feel and that you have the solution. This is easily done by professionals who understand how to invoke feelings with the right words, colors, and look.

You have to understand that people are busy these days. They’re always on the go. Most of them are not going to be lounging around looking at ads in the newspaper or browsing around on the internet. Using outdoor signs is a clear and effective way to make your business known, especially in the local area. If your outdoor business sign is properly done, people will take notice! Even if they don’t stop right then, they’ll remember your name and they’ll remember to come back there when they need what you’re offering.

Your outdoor business signs create awareness and a brand in people’s minds. Every business needs to be “remembered” and that’s what branding will do for you. Outdoor signs are also an effective way to take advantage of impulse buyers. You can almost think of your outdoor business sign as your silent salesman that is always at work 24 hours a day to bring in new potential sales. This is especially true if you have ongoing sales. For instance, if you offer 15% off on Tuesday afternoons, your sign is the key to making Tuesday afternoons busy as can be.

Veronica- Thanks for a great article. Recently my business was looking for a signage company to best represent our business. After some time, we came across Ameristamp Sign-A-Rama located in Evansville, Indiana. Needless to say they wowed us! They were friendly, prominent members in the community while staying affordable.
I would recommend them to anyone, here’s a shameless plug: http://www.signsoveramerica.com/

Veronica-nice article and points are well taken. For most small business SBA says their sign is one of the most important decisions and investments they make. For a LOCAL business it’s generally the most advertising piece they’ve got. For those that depend on local traffic and visibility their sign can be make or break. It’s my experience that most new small businesses have two issues with their sign (1) they don’t budget enough for it and (2) they don’t start the sign design process soon enough.

    (1) Because they’ve never bought signage before they don’t have a clue what it costs. Advice-probably more than you think. Everything is custom designed and made to order one at a time. The machinery, software, design-fabrication and installation help and equipment needed to implement the sign is all expensive.
    (2) Start early! First it has to be designed. Do you know exactly what you want? What city codes will allow? After you search for a sign company you have to deal with their work load and schedule.
Getting the permit from your local Zoning board can take from two-five weeks! Then the sign has to be either ordered which could be another four or more weeks to get from a vendor or made in house. Then installation has to be scheduled.
The whole process can take upwards of six weeks so START EARLY!
