What makes an effective landing page? Is it the layout? Is it the sales copy? Actually it is a combination of these and other elements, plus a strategic measuring of the success of a landing page that ensures its success. Here are several elements you should have in your PPC landing page.
1. Include The Information You Promised
Too many marketers create PPC landing pages that deliver nothing that was hinted or promised within the actual PPC link. If you are marketing autographed Gibson Les Paul guitars, you had better have at least one for sale and highlighted in your landing page.
2. Answer Customers’ Questions
When a potential customer clicks on a PPC link their interest is likely piqued and have further questions. Be sure to address potential questions in your landing page copy. Raise additional questions. Tell them how you can solve a problem. The key here is to continue their interest and lead them to an actual sales page. But answering their questions and keeping their interest sparked is vital to get to that step.
3. Keep it Simple
Your PPC landing page should not be a general landing page for all your PPC campaigns, or even your home page. Each PPC campaign link should have its own landing page with specific information regarding the promises you make in your advertising link copy.
Having too much general information, or making your new paid traffic search your home page and website for the answers frustrates them. Very quickly, your paid click becomes a casualty. Keep the information specific and simple.
4. Make a Strong Call To Action
Aside from the copy that gets visitors to your PPC landing page, the next most important element is making a strong case to make a sale or close a deal. Are you trying to sell a product? Or perhaps just gain additional email contacts? Be sure you write a compelling reason that your visitors should buy your product or provide you with their email address. And make it clear what they should do. Use clear links and buttons that say, “Click Here to Buy”, or “Enter Email Address Here” will give your readers clear instructions.
5. Test Your Landing Page
As mentioned, a landing page is successful only if it converts clicks into customers. Use metrics to determine how many visitors a landing page gets, how long they last, and how many actually convert at the call to action. If your conversions are low, you may need to revamp your landing page in order to make it more effective.
PPC is a sound marketing strategy to acquire new online customers. But your PPC success is fully determined by how effective your landing page is. Use these tips and find out more ways you can develop a winning landing page.

Excellent post, it’s beyond me why some people put one thing on their ads and never mention it again on the landing page. That’s my vote for the top way to lose a PPC sale.
