  1. Ivan,
As a SEO professional with about 14 years under my belt, the first thing I do is try to evaluate the credentials of the party offering the certification(s).

You say, “An online internet marketing courses that is taught by professionals and offered through an accredited college is something new.” and it links to http://emarketsphere.com/courses.html

If they are teaching online marketing they also have to include SEO.
As I am an accomplished SEO professional the first thing I look at is their SEO.
Going to the courses page I open the source.

    What do I see?
The meta tags refer to Joomla, the software that the site was built in.
    Big mistake.
this shows they do not understand:
    A) SEO
    B) Joomla

Their semantic structure is as bad as I have ever seen.
The page uses several h1 tags when there should only be one.
The largest text on the page is not their primary keywords. (h1)

They take almost no notice of local marketing techniques.
Nor do they use the website to their advantage with ecommerce enabled enrollment. Calls to action are placed at the end of a lot of scrolling.
Pages are way too long and fragmented.

Their main site, unitek.com is not much better.

I would stay far, far away from their teachings.

    Reg,

No comment on this, but I do agree that Joomla is not that good in term of SEO implementations.

  3. quality of online courses vary enormously.
There are those out there giving courses just because it’s hot.
There are those that come from traditional marketing without being sufficiently knowledgable on the internet medium.
And, yes, most of them produce a lot of theory, but are not that hands on.

    Michael,

“most of them produce a lot of theory, but are not that hands on.”

This is my main ‘complaint’ about online courses. Only a select few can offer more than just theories.

  5. Jeri says:

I built a new online e-commerce web site and I am trying to promote it in the best ways to get the most traffic because that would lead to sales, can anyone help?

  6. Noobpreneur says:

    Jeri,

You need to get the words out via advertising. Try using Facebook Ads, Google Adwords, and such – depending on your needs and target market. Also try offline marketing – flyers, etc. By nature, free offers could also drive traffic to your site.

    Cheers!
