Being an Entrepreneur is a Work of Faith

I like to associate entrepreneurs as a business world religious leaders.

Entrepreneurs are like priests.

They preach and walk the talk - Otherwise, they fail.

They envision ‘a promised land’ or ‘a better world’ - They walk with faith and a will to survive adversities.

They have to face disbeliefs, insults, and distrusts - and prove others wrong by doing what’s right.

Yep - entrpereneurs are strong willed, visionary leaders - a truly work of faith.

Today’s entrepreneur - beyond profit and success

You have to admit - today’s entrepreneurs are not merely making money of their ventures. They want what they do have impacts beyond money.

Ecopreneurs and sociopreneurs are the two breeds of entrepreneur that grow in popularity and impact.

Ecopreneurs are entrepreneurs that involve in the green movement - they build a business with green and environmental issues as the foundation.

Sociopreneurs are entrepreneurs that aim to offer better solution to the socio-economy issues, such as poverty, lack of education, etc.

Those type of entrepreneurs vision what they do beyond profit and success. They want to make the world a better place to live.

Sounds like religious leaders to me :)

Being an entrepreneur is a work of faith

People respects those who try to better the society. That’s why businesses do CSR (corporate social responsibility) campaigns. That’s why Bill Gates and his wife established Bill Gates Foundation.

You see, for whatever motives - good or bad - entrepreneurs want to do good.

Being one is a work of faith - you believe that what you do will impact do the society good, as well as financially rewarding.

I want to be one simply because I envision that being an entrepreneur opens up doors - you have more choices to make and things to decide - you have better chances to impact your community the way you want it.

The question is, what is your motives? Share your thought here :)
