As an entrepreneur, one of the hardest things you’ll struggle with is motivation. When we’re motivated, we are just unstoppable. No matter the obstacle, you can always persevere and push through. But what happens when you hit the wall, and slowly start losing motivation?
You start doubting yourself!
If you’ve experienced this, no need to beat yourself up–you’re not alone. Most successful entrepreneurs go through the same issues. The magic key is, to find ways to ignite your motivation on a daily basis. One of easiest ways entrepreneurs are doing that is by learning and practicing great wisdoms and quotes.
Here are 5 quotes successful people know and practice often.
“You become what you think about.” — Earl Nightingale
To be successful at anything, the first thing you must have is a “positive mindset.” The world is full of distractions so in order to stay on track, you must always think about your mission and continually work towards your goals.
Always think about the next step. The more you think about your future, the more your future becomes a reality.
“Ready, Fire, Aim.” — Michael Masterson
No, this does not mean you go into business completely blind. It’s simply saying to “stop wasting time and take action. Getting “ready” and taking “aim” takes way too much time. As long as you have a firm idea of where you want to go, there’s no need to have a perfect “aim.”
You can “aim” later, but for now, just “FIRE.” The truth is most people spend their time planning and organizing when they should be “FIRING.”
To reach any destination, you must first start to move. What’s the point of having the perfect aim if you’re standing still?
“If you’re not embarrassed by your first product, you’ve launched too late.” — Reid Hoffman
This is somewhat related to the previous quote and it’s self-explanatory. I am sure you’d love to have the perfect product before sharing it with the world, but perfection is not reality. No matter how perfect you may think something really is, there will always be room for improvements. This is especially true for those working in tech industry.
“The new source of power is not money in the hands of a few, but information in the hands of many.” — John Naisbitt
It’s time for a little less tweeting/status updating and some more face-to-face networking. The last thing you want to do is wait until you hit a road block to go find help. So you should start creating a network from day one and go out to meet people in your industry, connect with influencers, join local communities, and most importantly, make friends rather than contacts.
“You are the average of the 5 people you hang around with” — Jim Rohn
Becoming a successful business owner is much like learning a new language. So it makes sense to hang with the people who already speak and understand it. The more time you spend around successful people, the easier it is to become a success.
If finding people is a challenge, you can easily do this online. You can join or create master mind groups by finding 5 or 6 like-minded people in your industry (usually people you can learn from) and start collaborating and sharing ideas, tools, and resources. Believe me–it will make a huge difference in your business and mindset.
In conclusion
As people, we all have our set of quotes that we resonate with the most. I am simply suggesting that we start taking them a bit more seriously and, most importantly, practice their messages.
Until next time, stay motivated!
