Indeed – bids are not ‘hot’ as always. Maybe the recession has finally gotten into online business? I’m not really sure about this…

I have followed theaffilatepost.com for a while, and actually bid on it when it was with its original owners, and also when it was with the current owner.

It WAS an exceptional blog (well known to SP mods), but IMO, the current owner (or has it change ownership again?) damage the value of the blog. Or is it with you right now? ;)

I notice it is a little old now..can I ask how many you have bought since this article? Is your blog flipping career taking off?

One thing I have noticed recently is that the market has slowed down (certainly on sitepoint) what do you think of that?

The problem with free blogs are they actually hard to sell. When buying blogs, people usually want to invest in the domain name PLUS the content.

My rule of thumb in determining the prices is 10 – 20 times monthly income, highly dependent on the traffic, potential, and content quality.

I even buy a website less than 3 times cashflow – so, that’s really depend on the market and the opportunity.

No offense, but your blog price will probably in the 2 digit range. Perhaps you should consider buying a domain name and host the blog yourself.
